Novice Workshop: Sponsor: Debby Sullivan This is THE place to start if you have never tried line dancing before.
Level 1 Workshop: Beginner Sponsor: Shirley Miller This session is aimed at Beginners who have mastered basic dance steps and Novice dances.
Level 2 Workshop: Improver Sponsor: Anne Romeo This session provides instruction in Improver/Easy Intermediate dances. These often feature a little more challenge in step and rhythm patterns. It is designed to serve as support for dancers who would like to review Level 2 dances, or learn Level 2 dances as they transition from Level 1 to Level 2. It is recommended that Workshop attendees also attend Level 2 Program to practice new skills. Level 3 Workshop: Intermediate Sponsor: Terri Gage This session provides instruction on Intermediate Level 3 dances. Dances are broken down into short blocks of steps with focused instruction on footwork, technique, and transitions to the next block. It is a Refresh designed to serve as a catch up for dancers who may have missed initial instructions and serves as a transition from Level 2 to Level 3. |
Novice+ (N+) Workshop: Sponsor: Jane Sims This is the next step for those who have mastered the Novice dances. You will learn slightly more complex dances, which may include events such as "tags" and "restarts". Level 1 Program: Beginner Sponsor: Linda Weiss This is a session of a selection of 20 Beginner and High Beginner dances learned in the Novice, Novice+ and Level 1 workshops that are on the Active Dance List. There is a two-wall walk through before each dance to help refresh the steps. The dances are not complex but may include occasional restarts, tags and alternate music. There is typically one new dance taught every other month. Level 2 Program: Improver Sponsor: Anne Romeo This session of 20 dances is a little more difficult and will include more complex dances with more restarts, tags and a greater use of alternate music. Favorite Level 1 dances are sprinkled in throughout the program for fun and variety. There is a one-wall walk through to help refresh the steps. There is typically one new dance taught each month. Level 3 Program: Intermediate Sponsor: Terri Gage This session moves at a faster pace and includes dances which are more challenging. In our program each week, our more challenging dances are sprinkled in among our favorite Level 1 and Level 2 dances. There may be multiple restarts and tags, phrased patterns (e.g., A, B, C) as well as a greater use of alternate music. There is usually a starting 8 count walkthrough for familiar dances and a longer walk through for more challenging dances. There is typically one new dance of varying complexity taught each month. |
